When is MAINx24?
MAINx24 is always held on the first Saturday of December — this year is Saturday, December 5, 2026. It runs a full 24 hours, sunrise to sunrise.
How much does it cost?
Nearly every event is free. A few events (like some food events or workshops) may have a small fee that supports a local business or nonprofit, and this is listed on each event page.
Where exactly does it happen?
All along Main Street and around Chattanooga’s Southside, from Central Avenue to Broad Street — in shops, restaurants, studios, churches, parks, and on the street itself. Check the festival map to see where everything is happening.
Where do I park?
Main Street parking will be blocked; use side streets and public lots. They fill up fast on festival day. Consider biking, carpooling, rideshare, or the free electric shuttle from downtown. Arriving early (or staying really late) helps too.
Is it kid-friendly?
Very. Look for events tagged “Kids” — from morning pancake breakfasts and cookie decorating to the parade itself. Late-night events skew more grown-up.
What if it rains (or snows)?
MAINx24 happens in rain, shine, or December drizzle. Many events are indoors, and outdoor hosts plan for the weather. Individual events may adjust — check the event page for updates. Some of our best events have happened in the rain!!
How do I host an event?
If you live, work, or create in the Southside or Chattanooga area, you can host a sidewalk sale, an open studio, live music, a cook-off- anything. Use the event submission form; the MAINx24 team reviews each submission before it’s published. Open houses or what you sell and do every day are not considered an event. Please consider testing a new concept or new menus, or a collaboration with other organizations to make your event stand out.
Do I need my own venue to host?
Not necessarily. Many hosts partner with a shop or organization on Main Street. If you have an idea but no space, reach out to Mainx24event@gmail.com for assistanve in finding a spot. — neighbors are good at finding room for a good idea.
Can I build my own schedule?
Yes! Tap the heart on any event to add it to My Events — your personal plan for the 24 hours. No account needed; your schedule is saved on your device.
How do I edit my event after submitting?
Sign in with the same email you used to submit, then open My Submissions.
How can my business sponsor MAINx24?
Sponsorships keep the festival free. Visit the Sponsors page and contact Mainx24event@gmail.com, and we’ll find the right fit.
I need more information to enter my event or to cancel my event. Who do I contact?
